Bruce Springsteen back to Australia in 2014. And this time he's coming to Perth...

Fans of Bruce Springsteen who missed out on the rocker’s Australian tour could be in luck with reports The Boss is returning down under in February next year with another tour starting at Perth Arena.

Rumours have been circulating fan forums since the end of the Springsteen’s Wrecking Ball tour in Australia in March that he would return within a year after a series of 10-sell out shows.

On Wednesday night fan sites waiting for an announcement went into meltdown after a release from Triple M radio station said Springsteen would play Perth Arena on February 7 next year before heading around the country for another tour.

The webpage was quickly taken down moments later, but a search on Google still showed results that the radio station and Frontier Touring had details of the 2014 concerts.

Facebook group Bruce Springsteen Perth, previously a campaign group to bring The Boss to WA, even managed to collect screen grabs of the website listing dates for Perth, Adelaide – which also missed out on this year’s tour, Melbourne, Sydney, The Hunter Valley and Brisbane.

Frontier pre-sale tickets are reported to go on sale Wednesday, August 21.

The Triple M web leak also suggests that the reformed Hunter & Collectors will support Springsteen for the Melbourne show, listed for AAMI Park.

Stay tuned for updates, and follow Bruce Springsteen Perth for more.

  1. Well, if this is announcement is in fact true it's just another nail in the coffin for we U.S. fans. I don't think Bruce cares about us anymore. I never, in 42 years thought I'd be saying that it looks like the money means more to Bruce than his fans do. Hey Bruce, do you remember that your U.S. fans are still here, or are you in the beginnings of Altzheimers?

    1. Whether the rumors are true or not, Bruce has countless fans here in Australia that are just as passionate as you Americans. I can count on one hand the number of Australian tours Bruce Springsteen has done in the last 30 years. In most recent world tours the U.S has recieved multiple legs. I really cant believe you are complaining about this....

    2. Um... dont be ridiculous. How many times has Bruce toured the US in the last 20 years? Many many times. How many times has he toured Australia? 4 times. 85, 97, 2003 and 2013. 32 gigs in Australia total, and never been to the west coast. Hes done a couple thousand gigs in the US in his career. And hes already done at least one swing through the US on the Wrecking Ball Tour already. So excuse me if I wonder who it is has the beginnings of Alzheimers. I seriously cannot believe your words. Man... you got him all the time and you still complain.

    3. Boo hoo ,poor you , cant have him all to yourselves .......We crazy about The Boss too....The rest of the World ,s crazy about Bruce....and as he has Irish blood in him ....we love him even more...

    4. The world is a lot bigger than the U.S. of A. Have just seen Bruce in Ireland in July. Was awesome. Quite an experience. Every fan should get that chance. There are plenty more countries out there, some where English is not the official language. I'd like to know what makes you think that Bruce is making more money travelling all the way down to Oz and South America, than if he played New Jersey! You're a bit ungrateful. Embrace the spirit, man!

  2. In the last three tours, Springsteen never used a support act... one being suggested here doesn't smell right...bet it's fake.

    1. He had two supporting acts when he playing at Hanging Rock (Victoria) earlier this year, so it could be possible.

    2. Actually when he played Hanging Rock in Victoria in March he had two support acts. It was obviously the choice of the promoter, but the fact he had them discounts your theory.

    3. He used supports on his two Hanging Rock gigs here in Australia this year so maybe its true.

    4. He is only using a support act for the Melbourne stadium show.

  3. Settle down you US fans... yes Springsteen was in Australia this year, but it was 10 years between tours.... and another 10 years before that. He only did 10 small shows here and missed a large part of the country. Hoping the rumours are true, as we'd love to be able to see him again (within 10 years).
And FYI, he did have a support act for some of his Oz shows this year - Jimmy Barnes (even did a duet with him).
    Cheers!!

  4. ...there were support acts for his two shows at Hanging Rock earlier this year. and Bruce has only toured Australia 4 times in his life. it's nice that he's showing us a bit of love, if true. I hardly doubt he's forgotten his US fans. that's a hard call on someone who's toured the US constantly over his lifetime

  5. We waited FRICKIN years for him to come back to Australia....Come on yanks harden up and be gratefull you can see him in the US every year.

  6. Looks and smells like a fake. The grammar and wording of the 'Triple M page' is all to cock, and the 'Back in 2014!' image looks poorly Photoshopped. Also, I've been to Hope Estate and there's no feasible way that Springsteen and the E Street Band could play there.

Anonymous above - Bruce has played 2,000-plus shows in the US. He's played less than 50 in Australia. You need to learn to share mate.

  7. Just for the American fans who have had the great opportunity to see Bruce tour many, many times since 1973. In the last 40 years us fans in Australia have only ever had 4, yes, 4 tours by Bruce & one of those was the solo Tom Joad tour without the E Street Band. What Bruce witnessed at all his shows here was his devoted, STARVED, fans pouring out their love to him solidly for 3+ hours. And the Aust Tour did not feature Stevie either because of his commitments to the Lilyhammer schedule. There is enough of Bruce to go around everyone & now maybe his long patient Australian fans don't have to wait another 10 whole years to see him again.

  8. erm he had two support acts in Melbourne this year...

  9. He had Jimmy Barnes open for him at Hanging Rock in 2013. Melbourne show only for H&C... wouldn't discount it on that alone.

  10. Bruce promised to be back next year at the show in Brisbane this year. I would much rather see just the fully Estreet Band doing a full three and a half hours again but Hunters & Collectors are an ok choice for a crowd warm up but will they be able to stand the BRUUUUUUUUCEing from the crowd to get them to get finished and clear the stage ready for the Boss LOL. Don't know why the Yanks are complaining as they get the majority of Bruce shows by far and to say it is about the money is a joke. Most of our venues are smaller by far than the US ones and the travel distances between shows are so much greater. The band could probably do three times as many shows anywhere else in the world in the time it takes to get around Australia. It is more likely that it is because bands tend to come here in the US winter as we don't have snow and it's summer here and the beaches are so much better. LOL

  11. Looking good.. Australia, then definately Europe next summer. Finland is waiting again! :)

  12. Oh the poor US fans. You have had plenty of chances to see him compared to the chances we have had down here !

And when he played at Hanging Rock, he had two support acts. So talk of a support act is not necessarily a red herring.

  13. well in my opinion he is thinking about them, it's good that he's spreading himself around, I'm from australia & when I was in tennesse 5 years ago I was surrounded by lucky fans who had seen him 10 - 35 times !! Meanwhile, this was my first time ever, looking forward to the nextr australian tour can't wait !!!!!!

  14. Just for what it's worth, occasionally he has support acts, like at the Hanging Rock shows or in Nijmegen. As it states above, it will be for one show only, which to me sounds about right and absolutely within in reason. Still doubt that it will happen though

  15. He has had support acts on at least 3 shows this tour.

  16. MICHEAL GUDINSKI FRONTIER TOURING HAS A HUGE ANNOUNCMENT ON TRIPLE M RADIO AUSTRALIA IN THE MORNING, SEEMS TO BE ALL LOOKING LIKE THE BOSS BACK IN OZ IN FEBRUARY, FOR US DEVOTED FANS WHO HAVE EVEN TRAVELLED TO THE USA BECAUSE WE THOUGHT HE WOULD NEVER COME BACK, THE POTENTIAL TO BACK UP ANOTHER 4 OR 5 SHOWS AFTER SEEING 5 IN APRIL, IS MIND BOGGLING.
I AM SURE HE HAS NOT FORGOTTEN THE USA, YOU HAD A PRETTY GOOD RUN WITH HIM FOR A LONG TIME, NOW DOWN UNDERS TURN, HERES HOPING THE RUMOURS ARE TRUE

  17. ...apologies for the thick headed american complaining in the first post...he doesn't speak for all us...

  18. I agree with everyone. I live in the US and I know he has played a lot here. You all deserve the same attention that we do. I would love to see him again in 2014 but I won't cry about it. I have seen him 6 times, 3 of those times have been in The Wreaking Ball Tour. The american that complained should be ashamed. He/She doesn't speak for all of us. I hope all of you get a chance to see for the first time or get to see him again. I hope the rumors are true. If you get to go to the concert, have a lot of fun! For the first timers, you will not see a better concert. His energy is amazing and he is awesome. I still can't believe the energy he has for a 63 year old. He performs as if he is still in his 30's.

  21. Bruce is a global hero, the only one probably.

  22. Springsteen has been playing the USA consistently for years! He's been to Australia a total of 4 times in 30 years! 3 x with ESB and 1 x solo. I'm glad he's adding Perth, Adelaide and Auckland to the ticket, last tour I spoke to people who had spent thousands travelling from these locations to see him. What a great reward for loyal fans. https://www.facebook.com/BruceSpringsteenAdelaide2014?sk=wall&filter=2&notif_t=wall
